Nick has been a tremendous club man, giving a lifetime of service to the club both on and off the field. He would like to sincerely thank the club for nominating him for this award and says it was a great honour to receive it. Nick also wishes to thank everyone in the club for their support and for putting his name forward.
Nick’s involvement with the club goes back many years. He began his journey as a player, lining out in the Rackard League with Ballyroebuck, and went on to play with the club throughout the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s. He was part of the team that won the first Junior Hurling County title for the club in 1969. He was also involved with the Wexford Senior Hurling Management team in 2007 & 2008. He then went on to achieve one of his proudest moments as he was part of the management team which led our club to Intermediate Hurling success in 2009.
Since then, Nick has gone on to fill almost every role within the club, always willing to give his time, effort and experience wherever it’s needed. Nick was part of the executive committee when we first opened our grounds in Ballyroebuck and remains heavily involved in the exciting development of our New Grounds in Borris.
A totally dedicated club man, Nick’s commitment and service over the years embodies everything the Seana Ghael Award represents.
The club are very proud to honour Nick and would like to thank him for his continued dedication to Kilrush Askamore GAA Club.
